About
The TeeBots are a side project, that started off as a way to monitor I-80 chain controls. They are now stable enough to let other people know about them.
If you like them, or have a suggestion for a new TeeBot that I could offer, feel free to drop me a line. --Toxic
The TeeBots are a series of helpful robots that collect important information from public sources, and redistribute it via Twitter. These bots are experimental, and are not guaranteed to be functional, timely, or accurate. You might find them useful anyway.
And with that, let me introduce you to the bots:
CAquake - California Earthquake Announcer
Did you feel that rumble? Was it a reminder of last night's chili dinner, or just another California earthquake?
Start following @CAquake and know for sure. This TeeBot uses data provided by the US Geological Survey to automatically distribute timely information about the location and magnitude of all California earthquakes greater than 3.5 on the Richter scale.
i80chains - Interstate 80 Chain Controls
Driving over Donner Pass this weekend? Bring your chains. Want to know if you'll need them? Want to know if the road is still open?
Just follow @i80chains. This TeeBot monitors the CalTrans road information feed, and reports on road closures and any changes in chain requirements. Send this bot's updates to your phone when you're on the road, and you won't have to subject your ears to 1610 AM again.
US50chains - US-50 Chain Controls
Do you prefer to ski in South Lake, and take US-50 into Tahoe??
We can help you, too. @US50chains is essentially the same bot as @i80chains, but for those who are interested in US Route 50 into South Lake Tahoe.
I80signs - Caltrans Signs on I80
This bot is experimental.
