Tappety Tap Tap...

...hey, I guess this thing works.

In 39 long days, the NFL regular season will begin in Pittsburgh.

A week before the 2009-2010 players take the field, each team's current roster of 80 people will get whittled down to a mere 53.  864 current "players" won't make the cut.  Tomorrow, they'll go to work wearing an NFL practice uniform.  But on the first Monday after labor day, they'll be watching the game on TV, just like the rest of us.

Well, almost.  Most of these players will be watching the game from home.  We can do better (though possibly not in this state).   With a little bit of planning, you too could be watching the game from Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.  (Virgin America's still got some $49 seats.)  Yep, it's time for a trans-border beer run!

It's true, Week #1's bar will be in Vegas.  Can you think of a better place to watch the introduction of T.O. as  Buffalo Bill, followed by the curious debut of John Gruden as MNF commentator?

Want us to save a seat for you for the MNF doubleheader or all 13 Sunday games?  Mail me off-list for details.

Are you ready for some football?
